Derome goes pink for October

Derome is usually associated with the color green, this October will however be different. The Derome group has chosen to support Pink October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month in order to pay attention to the work conducted by the The Breast Cancer Association and support their vision, which aim is that no one should suffer from breast cancer. Derome’s timber packages are therefore wrapped in pink plastic throughout the month of October and the first pink packages has already been delivered to Deromes customers.

The Derome group has decided to extend their focus on charity during the months of October and November, as part of paying extra attention to the company’s core value Responsibility. Each month, Derome sells thousands of timber packages to Swedish as well as international customers and will now give a donation for every pink-wrapped package.

- We’ve had both colleagues and collaborators who has been affected by this disease, says Pontus Larsson, Sales manager at Derome Timber and initiator of the project. We hope that our support can make a difference and contribute to less people being affected in the coming years. We have decided to make our campaign very visible with hope that our customers and partners will see the packages and also decide to pledge their support and contribution.

Responsibility

It is of great importance to focus on development in order to have a positive impact on the future. The pink packages will be seen primarily on Swedish merchant branches.

- The pink wrapping may seem a bit startling and that is exactly what we are aiming for, says CEO Magnus Andersson. We discuss the meaning and significances of the word responsibility and the meaning of it a lot within the company, since this is one of our core values. We take responsibility for our business, the company’s future and of course the environment. However, taking responsibility also means helping and contributing to the development of the society and creating a brighter future for our customers, collaborators and colleagues.

The pink packages will be visible throughout October, after that the campaign changes from pink to blue. The engagement for November will instead be “Movember” which is a nationwide campaign that highlights prostate cancer. The Derome group is wrapping their packages in cooperation with Trioplast.
